39 Park Square Leeds are organising a Wellbeing and Mental Health Awareness Seminar 2019:

At a recent North Eastern Circuit Wellbeing At the Bar Seminar it was noted that  1 in 6 barristers feel low in spirits most of the time and that 2 in 3 barristers feel that showing signs of stress equals weakness.

This prompted 39 Park Square to host an event aimed at raising awareness on the subject and to contact a number of charities whose focus is on the same.

We are pleased to announce that charities LawCare and the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust will both be sending a representative speaker to the event.

LawCare  supports and promotes good mental health and wellbeing in the legal community. Their service is available to help all branches of the legal profession and their mission is to help with personal or professional concerns that may be affecting their mental health and wellbeing and to promote understanding of how and when to seek help, without fear or stigma. See https://www.lawcare.org.uk

The CWMT was set up in 1997 in memory of Charlie Waller, a young man who took his own life whilst suffering from depression. Shortly after his death, his family founded the Trust in order to educate young people on the importance of staying mentally well and how to do so. See https://www.cwmt.org.uk

Their presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and refreshments.

PLEASE feel free to invite your wellbeing officers, barristers, solicitors, clerks and staff alike. There are a limited number of places available and it is anticipated that these will fill up quickly so please RSVP by emailing me at randell@39parksquare.com

I look forward to seeing you all.

Best wishes,

Jessica RandellBarrister
